Cetuximab Drug Information

Cetuximab (Erbitux®) is a medication prescribed for squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN). It is also approved to treat advanced colorectal cancer (cancer of the colon and rectum) that expresses a protein called epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). It is given via infusion into a vein, either as a stand-alone treatment or in combination with other treatments.
 
Because this drug is not appropriate for everyone, prior to starting cetuximab, inform your healthcare provider about any other medical conditions you have, such as heart disease or an irregular heartbeat, and any other medicines you are taking, including nonprescription medications and herbal supplements. This will help ensure a safe, effective treatment process.
