Brain Cancer in Adults (Cont.)

Prognosis for Brain Cancer in Adults

The prognosis for an adult with brain cancer will depend on:

  • The type of brain cancer (see Types of Brain Tumors)
  • The size and location of brain cancer
  • The brain cancer grade
  • The age and general health of the patient.

The prognosis is better for brain metastases from breast cancer than from other types of primary cancer (that is, the cancer in the breast has spread to the brain). The prognosis is poor for brain metastases from colon cancer (the cancer has spread to the brain from the colon).
