Aranesp® is a prescription medicine that is used for the treatment of anemia in people with chronic kidney failure or who are undergoing chemotherapy. It works by stimulating the production of red blood cells by the bone marrow.
 
Aranesp is an injectable drug that is given under the skin or by IV. While most people tolerate it well, potential side effects include diarrhea, hypertension, and fatigue. Some people are more likely to experience problems with this drug than others; therefore, it is important to tell your healthcare provider about any other medical conditions you have and any other drugs you are taking.
