Aranesp Drug Interactions

Aranesp® (darbepoetin alfa) is a medication approved to treat anemia caused by chronic kidney failure or chemotherapy. At this time, there are no known Aranesp drug interactions. It is important to understand that specific studies to check for Aranesp interactions have not been performed, and it is possible that there are Aranesp interactions that are not currently known.

Of course, Aranesp should not be combined with epoetin alfa (Epogen®, Procrit®). Aranesp and epoetin alfa are almost identical (with a few important differences), and using them together would increase the risk of side effects.

It is possible that not all Aranesp drug interactions are known at this time. Therefore, you should talk with your pharmacist or healthcare provider on a regular basis about any specific drug interactions with Aranesp that may apply to you.
