Anzemet Drug Interactions

Cimetidine, diuretics, and certain antibiotics may potentially interact with Anzemet. Drug interactions can make Anzemet less effective and increase your risk of developing side effects, particularly a dangerous irregular heart rhythm called QT prolongation. To help prevent potentially serious Anzemet interactions, make sure to tell your healthcare provider about all other medications you are currently taking.

Anzemet Drug Interactions: An Overview

Anzemet® (dolasetron mesylate) can potentially interact with a few other medications. Some of these medicines that may lead to Anzemet interactions include:
 
o Ciprofloxacin (Cipro®, Cipro XR®)
o Clarithromycin (Biaxin®, Biaxin XL®)
o Erythromycin (Ery-Tab®)
o Gemifloxacin (Factive®)
o Mefloquine (Lariam®)
o Norfloxacin (Noroxin®)
o Ofloxacin (Floxin®)
o Telithromycin (Ketek®)
o Troleandomycin (Tao®)
  • Certain arrhythmia medications, including:
o Amiodarone (Cordarone®)
o Disopyramide (Norpace®, Norpace CR®)
o Dofetilide (Tikosyn®)
o Flecainide (Tambocor®)
o Ibutilide (Corvert®)
o Procainamide (Procanbid®)
o Propafenone (Rythmol®)
o Quinidine
