Aloxi Drug Interactions

It is no longer believed that Aloxi increases the risk of QT prolongation. While Aloxi drug interactions are unlikely to occur, it's important to talk to your healthcare provider about any interactions that may apply to you.

 

Aloxi Drug Interactions: An Overview

Aloxi® (palonosetron hydrochloride) is unlikely to interact with other medications. You may come across outdated information listing many possible Aloxi interactions; current information suggests that these interactions are probably unlikely to be a problem.
 
Originally, it was thought that Aloxi increases the risk of a dangerous irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia) called QT prolongation. As a result, it was thought that combining Aloxi with other QT-prolonging medications might further increase such risks.
 
However, the QT prolongation warning has been removed from the prescribing information for Aloxi, and it seems that Aloxi probably does not significantly increase the risk of QT prolongation. As a result, it is thought that Aloxi probably does not interact with QT-prolonging medications.
