Aldesleukin Type of Drug

As a type of immunotherapy drug, aldesleukin (Proleukin®) can help the body use its own immune system to treat kidney or skin cancer that has spread to other areas of the body.

Aldesleukin belongs to a class of medications known as biological response modifiers. It is a version of a natural human protein that stimulates production of certain white blood cells. These white blood cells attack harmful substances in the body, including cancer cells. By increasing production of these white blood cells, aldesleukin may help the body fight off cancer cells.
