Adcetris Drug Interactions

Digoxin
Chemotherapy medicines, including Adcetris, may lower the amount of digoxin absorbed into the bloodstream, which could decrease its effectiveness. If you take digoxin in addition to Adcetris, your healthcare provider may check your digoxin blood levels, especially when you first start or stop using Adcetris, and adjust your dose if needed.

Echinacea
Echinacea can make Adcetris less effective. This is because echinacea is thought to stimulate the activity of the immune system, while Adcetris suppresses the activity of the immune system. Do not take echinacea during Adcetris treatment without your healthcare provider's approval.

Live Vaccinations
Live vaccines are vaccines that contain live viruses or bacteria. If you receive a live vaccine during Adcetris treatment, you may become infected with the virus or bacteria from the vaccine. Also, because Adcetris lowers the activity of the immune system, live vaccines may be less effective in people using this chemotherapy drug. Talk to your healthcare provider before receiving a vaccination while you are receiving Adcetris.

Sipuleucel-T
Sipuleucel-T may be less effective if taken with Adcetris. Talk to your healthcare provider about this possible interaction before using these medicines together.

Warfarin
Chemotherapy medicines, including Adcetris, have been reported to both increase and decrease the effects of warfarin. Therefore, your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more closely by checking your prothrombin time ("protime" or PT) and international normalized ratio (INR) when you first start or stop using Adcetris.
