- Have not already been taking regularly scheduled opioid pain medication and are not opioid tolerant (your body is not used to taking opioid medications regularly).
- Need pain medication only for acute pain (short-term pain), including surgery pain, dental pain, headache or migraine pain, or pain in the emergency room setting.
