Abiraterone acetate (
Zytiga™) is a medication that is available by prescription only and is approved for treating advanced
prostate cancer that has spread to other areas of the body (metastasized). It is used in combination with
prednisone and works to slow down the growth rate of prostate cancer cells by reducing testosterone levels.
Before taking the medication, you should talk to your healthcare provider if you have any medical problems, such as heart problems, liver disease, or problems with your adrenal glands.
